Kamelot powstał w 1991 w USA. Do dnia dzisiejszego nagrali 8 albumów, a wydany w 2005 roku Black Halo został doceniony w różnego rodzaju podsumowanich takich jak Metal Hammer czy Kerrang. Grupa wyspecjalizowała się w power-metalu, jednak już od kilku krążków wzbogacają swoje brzmienie o inne elementy takie jak symfonia czy black-metal (wsólpracowali min. z Dimmu Borgir).
